Our projects aim to promote safer, more sustainable cities and foster united, resilient communities to face current an future challenges.
Reduce inequality
We work with communities in public housing complex facing challenges such as a lack of support networks, public spaces, basic services, and high insecurity to reduce the inequality prevalent in Mexico.
Gender equality
Gender equality is a fundamental human right for a healthy society. Our projects aim to promote the leadership of people who identify as women and empower their position within communities.
Climate Action
Our interventions focus on the environment, promoting ecological justice by reducing inequalities in access to green spaces and their benefits for mental and physical health.

Our history

Founded with a seed capital from Infonavit, Fundacion Hogares was born to improve the quality of life of families living in low-income housing complexes

In partnership with Infonavit, we started our neighborhood rehabilitation program in 27 states

We conducted social research on crime prevention in high-crime and marginalized areas identified by the Ministry of the Interior.

We implemented new social and physical intervention programs with national scoope

We developed the “Neighborhood Social Cohesion Index (Índice de Cohesión Social Vecinal)” in partnership with México Evalúa to measure the impact of our work

We successfully impacted the lives of 1 million people, with our programs

We published the manual “Improve your Street” (Mejora tu Calle) in collaboration with UNAM and Lugares Públicos, A.C.

To expand and improve reading spaces and libraries, we released the articles “Reading Room Manual” (Manual de Salas de Lectura), “Improve your Reading Room” (Mejora tu Sala) and “Training Program for Reading Mediators” (Programa de Capacitación a Mediadores de Lectura)

We developed “Good Foundational Governance” (Buen Gobierno Fundacional) to strengthen our internal management.

With 15 years of experience, we have launched 650 projects focused on physical and social regeneration, benefiting over 2 million people across all 32 states of Mexico. Additionally, we have established more than 370 partnerships with public, private, academic, and civil society organizations.
